Ashford Lib Dems make a splash for WaterAid

Local Campaigner Chris Took with MEP Chris Huhne

Over 70 Liberal Democrat members attended the Ashford Constituency Dinner on Saturday 9th October at the Holiday Inn, Kennington.

The after-dinner speakers were Chris Huhne, the recently re-elected Member of the European Parliament for South-East England, and Chris Took, the Parliamentary Spokesperson for Ashford Lib Dems.

They were photographed together publicising Chris Took's participation in the Ashford Quest International 10K Run from the Julie Rose Stadium on Sunday 10th October.

Chris ran in aid of WaterAid which is the UK 's only major charity dedicated to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people. The £350 raised at the dinner is enough for a school sanitation block for 150 children in Tanzania.

"I think we can all do our little bit to make the world a better place" added Chris Took "and I am delighted to be supporting such a worthy cause."
