"Team Took"

Ashford Liberal Democrats parliamentary spokesman Chris Took and his 'first lady' Josephine have together raised more than £300 for WaterAid following the Quest Ashford 10k.

Both broke their personal bests by 3 and 6 minutes respectively whilst the race, and especially the running against each other, has given both the impetus run and raise more.

"We are looking at running the Llanelli half marathon in March" said Josie "and the ideal would be to try and raise £1000 between us" added Chris.

Over one billion people in the world are without safe water whilst more than two billion lack basic sanitation. As a result a child dies every 15 seconds from water related diseases.

Josie added "WaterAid is a wonderful charity that works with local organisations to reverse this trend. Whilst the race and the fund raising are of course good fun the simple truth is that it's a privilege to do something for the world's poorest people."
