Lib Dem surge in latest MORI poll

9.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 26th Apr 2006

There was yet further evidence today that the electorate are increasingly falling out of love with the "big two" of the political establishment.

Today's MORI poll in The Sun finds the Liberal Democrats the real gainers. The top line figures of those absolutely certain to vote are Con 30% (-4), Lab 30% (-9), Lib Dems 25% (+6), Greens 4% (+1), BNP 3% (+3) Others 8%

Whilst there are no local elections in Ashford this year the poll bodes well for Liberal Democrat candidates who will be contesting seats on May 4th.

Everyone at Ashford Liberal Democrats wishes these candidates the very best of luck.
