More than £500 has been raised for local charities including The Samaritans, Pilgrims Hospice and Kent Air Ambulance by Ashford Lib Dems Chris Took and friends.

Chris and friends Lyndsey Russell, Katriona Sharp, and Thomas Challinor 'competed' in the Folkestone Santa Fun Run, a massive event organised by the Channel Rotary in Shepway, on December 10th. The event has raised £100,000 in just the last five years for good causes locally and further afield.

The main route for hundreds and hundreds of Santa's on the day was approximately 6k.

Speaking after the run Chris Took said "It was great to see so many people raising so much money for so many good causes. I'd like to thank Channel Rotary for putting on such a great event and putting so many people in a festive mood!"
