Liberal Democrat councillor George Koowaree has slammed the latest Tory budget as "chasing headlines rather than good services."

Cllr Koowaree was responding to Conservative claims that this year's budget would produce 'the lowest tax in Kent' by adding that "the focus of a budget must be to give good services and good value for money - not chase a headline."

The Conservative administration also reported that more money was now being spent on recycling - unfortunately they failed to mention that the overall percentage of waste recycled remains unchanged.
