Broken Lights? Let George Know!

Questions asked by Lib Dem Kent County Councillor George Koowaree, Ashford East, has revealed that nearly 600 street lights in Ashford are out. Even worse, of the blown and broken bulbs, nearly a third have been out for more than a month.

Conservative run Kent County Council has admitted that the cost of repairs has soared to double what was budgeted. KCC has promised 'significant improvements'.

Commenting on the staggering figures George told our website: "Street lights are very important both in crime prevention and road safety. It is outrageous that so many lights are out and so many stay out for such a long time."

George has asked local people to let him know of street lights which are out to make sure they are reported and repaired straight away.
