Ashford Liberal Democrats have published their mini manifesto ahead of the local elections in May with the underlying theme of greater community involvement in council matters.

In the manifesto the Liberal Democrats pledge that they will 'consult as widely as possible before decisions are made' and reintroduce 'Coffee with a Councillor' meetings to all areas of the borough.

All local residents can download their own copy of the Ashford Lib Dems mini-Manifesto at http://www.ashfordlibdems.org.uk/resources/index/

Leader of the Liberal Democrat group Cllr Rita Hawes explained "there is a definite feeling amongst the electorate that they are not being listened to and we want to change that."

Campaign manager Chris Took added "the best ideas for improving an area will always come 'bottom up' from locals, not 'top down' from the council cabinet."

The Liberal Democrats are expected to stand candidates in almost every ward at the election in May, potentially threatening years of Conservative dominance.
