Chris Huhne

Took - Backing Huhne for leader

Chris Took, Ashford Lib Dem's Parliamentary candidate, has backed Chris Huhne for leadership of the Liberal Democrats.

Chris, who backed Huhne in 2006 when he finished runner-up to Ming Campbell said "I've met Chris on a number of occasions and he has always come across as both a thoughtful and passionate Liberal."

"I'm sure Nick Clegg is a perfectly decent politician but, for me, Huhne is more of a thinker and more likely to position the Liberal Democrats as a distinctive, independent and strong party that is vitally important to the future of British politics."
