Baroness Scott of Needham Market to address Ashford party faithful

Party President confirmed as keynote speaker at Lib Dem Annual Dinner

President of the Liberal Democrats, Baroness Scott of Needham Market, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker to address the Ashford Liberal Democrats annual dinner on Thursday February 11th, 2010.

The Ashford annual dinner has previously welcomed MPs Chris Huhne, Ed Davey, Lembit Opik and Lynne Featherstone. Previous Party Presidents have included Charles Kennedy MP and Simon Hughes MP.

All members, supporters, friends and allies are welcome to attend. The 2010 dinner is expected to welcome up to 80 to the Downtown Diner in Ashford Town centre. As well as Baroness Scott, Ashford Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Candidate Chris Took will also be speaking during the three course meal.

"To welcome our Party President, especially in an election year, is a great boost for our supporters" added Chris Took. "I'm asking an awful lot of my team from now till election day. Our annual dinner is three months in to an intense six month period so it'll be good to take a break before stepping things up again in the run up to May."
