Bob Rawlings

Our Father, Bob Rawlings died on 16 February 2025 at the grand age of 96. He leaves his son, two daughters and four grand children.
He was a life long Liberal/Lib Dem active in local groups in Forest Hill, Meopham, Gravesend, Maidstone and Charing/Ashford.
He met our mother, Kathleen, through the Forest Hill Liberal group.
Over the years, they were active supporters including organising social events, I remember being dragged out of bed at an early age to make up a pair at a Liberal Whist Drive they were hosting, and general canvassing including delivering election leaflets, again I remember helping our father with my sisters to deliver numerous leaflets around the many housing estates of Gravesend.
We moved here in 1985 and for Charing/Ashford he was an active committee member, serving as Treasurer of the rural area and finally had election success serving as a Charing Parish Councillor for 8 years and an Ashford Borough Councillor for 4 years. Our Father, Bob Rawlings died on 16 February 2025 at the grand age of 96.
